Ruth Miller nee Lapidos, 98, of Lincolnwood, IL died peacefully on October 13 at Lincolnwood Place. Born in Evanston she was a nearly lifelong resident of Evanston and Skokie. Beloved wife of the late Sydney for nearly 70 years; loving mother of Sheila (Selwyn) Schwartz and Scott (Kim) Miller, cherished grandmother of Steve (Rossie) Schwartz, Jeffrey (Michelle) Schwartz, Rachel and Natalie Miller; adored great grandmother of Logan, Spencer, Theo and Miles Schwartz; dear sister of Morris (Mildred) and the late Sidney and Bernard Lapidos; aunt and great aunt of many. Ruth was a founding member of Beth Emet the Free Synagogue. She was an artist who delighted in gifting her work to her family. She was also a dedicated volunteer with numerous organizations and an active participant at the North Shore Senior Center. Graveside service, Sunday 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Palatine Township Senior Citizens Council or North Shore Hospice.
